A visit to Les Alpilles de Provence is like a visit to the South of France. Bolts of French fabric line the walls and the scent of lavender perfumes the air. The store carries a huge selection of French Provençal yardage, table linens, accessories and gifts. You'll also find French soaps and perfumes by L'Occitane and others, French candles by Seda, crafts by local Francophiles and imported pottery.

Owners Jacques Speicher and Joe Corso started Les Alpilles de Provence on a whim in 1998, with a suitcase full of fabric brought back from a vacation in Provence. The following year, they opened a small shop on Balboa Island in Newport Beach, California. They later moved to their current, larger location on the island:
